Forest Engineering
Pacific Forest Resources specializes in complex forest engineering projects, particularly stream crossings. The company’s principal, Steve Faulkner, is a licensed engineer in both Washington and Oregon. Many private corporations and government agencies have retained our services to develop specialized engineering plans for timber harvest, bridge and road construction projects in problematic areas. In addition, we have provided assistance in the development and implementation of numerous road repair and road restoration plans.
Project Management
Pacific Forest Resources has been retained on many occasions to serve as Project Manager or Contract Administrator for both municipal and private clientele. As Project Manager, we direct all phases of a project, from initial permitting through bid solicitation, contracting and compliance..
Construction and Harvest Appraisals, Layout and Supervision
Pacific Forest Resources has served many of our corporate clients in the capacity of construction, logging and/or quality control supervisors. Our services involve maintaining the highest quality product while keeping costs to a minimum.
In addition, Pacific Forest Resources has assisted several logging and construction contractors by showing them ways to increase the efficiency of their operations in order to lower costs, or by helping them estimate costs for bid proposals. In some instances, our services were used to help develop new methods of using existing equipment for specialized purposes.
Forestland and Trust Management, Planning and Administration
Pacific Forest Resources, in association with Bruner Forestry, specializes in assisting trust managers and/or landowners to realize the highest potential of their holdings by integrating their long-term goals with current land use regulations. We have successfully steered numerous projects through the various state and county permit processes throughout Washington, completing all on or ahead of schedule. Upon obtaining approved plans and permits, Pacific Forest Resources will follow through with the project by administering all operations to the logical conclusion.
Our long-standing working relationship with a wide variety of contractors allows us to match available equipment, abilities and markets to individual projects, thus maximizing results and client satisfaction.
Watershed Analysis
Pacific Forest Resources has been part of several watershed analysis teams in the development and implementation of various prescriptions for forestry operations. In addition to the Prescriptions module, Steve Faulkner has WDNR, Level 2 certification in the Mass Wasting, Soil Erosion, Water Supply/Public Works and Monitoring modules for Watershed Analysis.
Steve has been Prescription Team and/or Assessment Team Leader on numerous Watershed Analysis projects.
